Who we are

Mr. Braxton Bar & Kitchen is located in the Parkview/Petworth neighborhood of Washington, DC. A 200-year old Palladian window decorates the front lounge. A 1940s chamber stove serves as a coffee station in the back and a South African cape buffalo skull (died of natural causes) hangs over the bar.

Traditional American bistro with an international flair - meats, seafood, salads, and pasta, done with the Mr. Braxton twist! Chef Alex Canto serves lamb shank; a thick-cut watermelon salad tossed in agave, lime, and mint; six kinds of mussels; and hemp-encrusted salmon with tomato curry and root vegetables. Chef recommends the creme brûlée, home-made banana rum bread pudding a la mode, or seasonal berries to round out any meal!

Offering local beers, wines, and spirits. Our signature cocktails - Road to Zion(Mezcal/Wray & Nephew Jamaican White Rum); The Mr. Braxton cocktail, a Manhattan-inspired riff elevated by chocolate bitters, Fino sherry, vermouth, and orange zest...just to mention a few!

Enjoy the mural on our backyard patio painted by local mural artist, Eric B. Ricks - a trippy, floor-to-wall mural for an Alice in Wonderland vibe, complete with butterflies and black & white swirls! Live entertainment by The Green Show Band on Thursdays...see our Events page for details!

We’re an extension of your home, to reconnect with old friends, start relationships with new friends, or just meeting up for Tinder-dates in an authentic DC neighborhood! Jacket, tie, or cummerbund not required. ;)
